Val Cornwell, Lead Trainer
Val Cornwell has been a Professional Dog Trainer for over 24 years here in the Inland Empire. Her love of dogs and having owners keep them in their homes was the motivation behind her dog training career. Although she had a successful career in the legal field, she has always had a genuine love of all dogs and a strong desire to make the world a better place for them. Val attended Animal Behavior College in 1998 and graduated from their dog trainer program. She worked for several years as an independent contract trainer for Petco in both Riverside and San Bernardino. In 2004, Dances with Dogs Training Center was born. Val is also currently a mentor trainer for students completing their externship for Animal Behavior College.
After many years of volunteering at the Humane Society of San Bernardino Valley, Val approached them about conducting group dog training classes at their facility to provide low cost group training programs. Dances with Dogs Training Center has been the exclusive training program at the Humane Society since 2005.
Val has trained numerous dogs of all breeds and temperments over the years. She has great success with her positive training programs. In addition to conducting group training, Val also provides private in-home training, behavior modification consultations, puppy programs, and Canine Good Citizen prep classes and testing. Val continues to volunteer at the Humane Society and has served on the Board of Directors for the past 12 years. Val currently lives in Highland with her Siberian Husky Kenai and six cats that were foster fails.
